2009 was an exciting year for the West Memphis Chamber of Commerce with Jamie Carter as President. We thank him for all his hard work and dedication. Jamie Carter is eagar to pass the leadership of the Chamber to 2010 President, Keith Ingram.
Keith Ingram, advocate of the West Memphis Chamber, has been an active chamber member for thirty years, serving on various committees, and board of directors . He has also served as chamber president three previous terms. The Ingrams have served the West Memphis Chamber since 1953 and have played such a large role of shaping the chamber as it is today.
"While Jamie Carter was Chamber president the discount prescription card was introduced, and we are continuing to further the Distinguished Lecture Series. We have established a good working relationship with Marion Chamber of Commerce. A great accomplishment last year was maintaining membership in this tough economy. My goal is to continue all these, as well as work toward promoting West Memphis for the great Community it is," said Ingram.
Ingram, Vice President of Razorback Concrete, is a lifelong resident of West Memphis, Arkansas. Keith and his wife Betty have been married for 23 years.
Ingram has had many honors and accomplishments, including 2002 West Memphis Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year, the American Planning Association’s Citizen Planner of the Year award and twice as the recipient of the Outstanding Leadership award by the Arkansas Community Development Program.
Ingram currently serves on the Board of Directors for Crittenden Regional Hospital, National Ready Mix Concrete Association, Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame, and Vice-Chairman of Memphis Regional Logistics Council. Ingram was also elected to his first term in the Arkansas House of Representatives in 2008 where he serves on the Insurance and Commerce, Revenue and Tax Committees, and Vice-Chairman of Rules Committee. Ingram also served as Mayor of West Memphis from 1987 to 1994.
Keith Ingram is a member of First United Methodist Church of West Memphis and enjoys hunting and golfing.
